I spoke to up and coming Afrobeats musician Jayburn and asked if he could provide a bullet point process for how he monetizes his music.

How to Get Your Songs on Music Streaming Platforms and Get Paid
- Get your song recorded and ready as a WAV file (Waveform Audio File Format is an audio file format standard, developed by IBM and Microsoft, for storing an audio bitstream on personal computers. It is the main format used on Microsoft Windows systems for uncompressed audio. The usual bitstream encoding is the linear pulse-code modulation format).
- Create a graphics photo with size 3000 by 3000 px.
- Register with a music distributor like Amuse, DistroKid, TuneCore, etc.
- You can start with a free registration; in this case, your payout will be 85 percent for the artist and 15 percent for the distributor. But if you subscribe to a plan, you get to keep 100 percent of your royalty.
- Upload your song to the distributor with all the details of the song and choose a release date.
- Then you can promote your songs before the release date.
- On your release date, your song will be released with a special link that includes Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, SoundCloud, etc.
For example, you can use a linkfly URL like this: https://linkfly.to/40105FldJKn
